It’s been a while since our last update. To reopen our communication channels, we’ll explain our history as it is part of the DNA of BigBoards.
As you may remember, we started this pet project out of our own frustration while working with big data technologies. We spent endless time reconfiguring our cluster when switching from technology A to technology B. We often had to wait for one another’s job to complete so we could launch our own figments. We felt that all these frustrations were a consequence of having only one cluster, which we had to share. It reminded us of the times we were studying and had to literally roster in for time on the mainframe.
Knowing what mobile technology is capable of these days, at such a small size and for affordable prices, we are convinced it can be used to build personal big data clusters. The gain? Bring productivity to big data development.
So we threw everything we had at it and thought, dreamt and created.
We bought some wandboards, hard drives and a 3D-printer and did what had to be done.
Today we have 2 prototypes up and running and we are testing away!
